Firewire on Windows PCs in 2022
I thought I was going to have to throw away my trusty RME Fireface 400. It’s getting very hard to find new PCs with Firewire. The Fireface 400 is a great audio card, a replacement at its level would have been expensive. Fortunately I got it working on a new PC. Details here!
Silent Waveform for ISLA Instruments S2400
Here is 0.1 seconds of silence at 48kHz. You can use this sample in the S2400 sampler to implement mutes or choke groups.
Repairing the buttons on the Yamaha RX-5 drum machine
This Yamaha RX-5 needed some TLC. The buttons were not responding so well any more, especially the Edit Voice button. Here’s the fix.
